Any trip to Dubai wouldn't be complete without visiting two of the most famous landmarks, the Burj Al Arab and the Burj Khalifa. And since Dubai Mall happens to be right next door to the later...well, it'd be rude not to visit there too, wouldn't it!
Before heading there though, I had an exciting breakfast date with an awesome beauty
blogger and you tuber, Simone, who is based in Dubai. Since I live in Korea, this was the first chance I'd had to meet a fellow blogger. We hit it off immediately and had a lengthy chat covering just about everything you can imagine. I don't know if you're bound to get along with other bloggers very well because you already have that in common, but I was so happy to finally meet an online friend in the
real world,
and to get on swimmingly. I just wish I had the chance to do things like that more often. Would you believe though, between
two bloggers we didn't remember to take
one photo. Not one! I suppose that tells you something about how engrossed in conversation we were!
After breakfast I met Steve and we headed off to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. I'll let the pictures do the talking from here.

Moi and the world's tallest building. Just hanging out. |
This was the disaster day when I wore hot pink jeans that started dying my Pashli. Arrrrrrghhhhh!
Made an emergency purchase of this rather lovely floral pair of pants in H&M though. Crisis averted. Phew. |

The aquarium inside Dubai Mall |
Whilst Sephora ranked pretty high, my favourite store of the day? This one!! I'm a kid at heart, what else can I say?! |
Shoes, glorious shoes. And all available in my size, what d'ya know! |
The Hummingbird Bakery |
More kiddy fun // Sustenance // YUM! |
We went for a walk around the huge pond outside the mall and in the shadow of the Burj Khalifa. |
Did a spot of apartment window shopping. |
OOTD // White Sweater - H&M Conscious Collection // Floral pants - H&M (similar) // Rock Watch - Marc Jacobs |
Watched the spectacular fountain show |
Not once. |
But twice! |
After tearing ourselves away from the fountains (difficult because each show is different), we hopped in a
taxi to Bahri Bar at the Mina A'Salam for views of the Burj Al Arab with cocktails and a light bite to eat. |
Singapore Slings are my holiday fave. |
We finished the night with a stroll along the beachfront and waterways of the Mina A'Salam Hotel. |
What I loved about Dubai, which was so true for this day in particular, is how everything is done on a grand scale. Nothing is half baked, it's all big, showy and glam. It's really quite ostentatious but you know what, I liked it and by this point, I was in love!
I really want cake now! Everything looks so delicious!
ReplyDeleteglad you were able not only to save your bag, but also score some really awesome pants! and those cupcakes look magnificent ... nom nom nom xx

I bought a few pairs of shoes but the Mr is holding the bags so you don't see them in the photos. Sadly my budget didn't stretch to all of them. If only!! :) x

Yep, it scares me too. I just love white bags so much though and find that they tie in to my wardrobe well because I wear an awful lot of white or prints with white in.
