Spring Pastel Water Marbled Nails - My 1st Video!

31 March 2012

This morning I've been a busy bee. If you follow me on twitter I mentioned yesterday that I was thinking of trying to water marble my nails. I wasn't too sure how it'd turn out though and I was worried it could be too hard to do. Well I decided to go for it...

...and..

..I'm so happy with how it turned out!

It really wasn't as hard as I'd been thinking it would be. Yes, I'll admit it wasn't a total breeze, I re-did a couple of the first few nails but once I'd done a few I really got the hang of it! They don't look perfect but they definitely don't look like the globby mess I'd envisaged them ending up as!

I decided to make a very basic video tutorial, not because one successful attempt makes me a pro but just to help anyone else who wants to give it a try. It's my first video ever and also my very first upload to YouTube. Eeek! So...I'm really hoping you'll all watch it and that you all find it useful!

Let me know what you think! I haven't included audio because I wasn't sure if everyone would be ready for the British accent and I'm a little nervous about talking in videos, I might work up to it one day though!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

 xxx

    1. I know what you mean, think it really depends which colours you use :) I'd seen a few people do it with dark colours a while ago but it didn't really look great like that to me. I saw someone who'd done it with pale pink and white though recently and it changed my mind, that's why i tried it. I really like this colour combination and I'll probably do it again sometime now.

  6. Ooooohhhh!! This looks amazing! I tried this once and it was a DISASTER. I used yellow and silver because for some reason none of my other colours would spread despite using mineral water and the likes, pft!

    1. Mine didn't seem to spread that well at first but it seemed to start after I added a few more drops of polish and then everything worked out fine :) I had heard about the water affecting it too but I don't know how much that matters....?

  8. gonna try this now!! do you do all nails at once, using the same blobs of polish or do you repeat putting polish in warer for each nail? if u get what I mean ha ha xx

great vid too really clear - i like it without audio xx

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You need to repeat it for each nail. I actually managed to do two nails from the same blobs a couple of times but sometimes when you out one finger in it messes up the rest of it, so you'll just have to see how it goes :)

      good luck! x

  15. Did you use a particular brand of nail polish, or should any brand work for this?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think you can use any. The Mint and yellow I used were from The Face Shop, the lilac is Barry M's 'Berry I/C' and the hot pink which is Color Club. Some spread out better than others. I found that the cheaper the polish the more it spread out, which is good for this. Then again, the different polishes can all create different effects. So I'd just give it a shot with whatever you have and see what works for you :)
