Hong Kong Disney Day!

28 May 2012

Okay, I'm going to start by saying that the 'grown up' me is gone for the duration of this post. Disney has a knack of doing that to me. I've been brought up on Disney, lucky enough to visit the parks in Florida a lot of times and even work there on the Disney College Program for a summer, I'm basically a big Disney geek!

To say I was excited to go to Hong Kong Disneyland doesn't even come close to covering it. Do you know that kind of excited you get where you literally feel like you could explode? Well, this was that for me. It was also my fiancés first ever Disney visit so that just added to it, I couldnt wait to show him all the reasons I love it!

I wanted to wear something practical for Disney, but still bright and pretty, of course! I picked up a lace skirt in Zara the day before, so I opted to wear it with a simple loose lilac tee also from Zara (Zara, Zara, everywhere - I swear I'm not being paid by them!) Sunnies are always necessary for any day in the sun, although, Steve managed to somehow forget his. I've been lusting after a pair from Gucci but haven't succumbed to making the purchase (yet). I spotted a pair in H&M that, although not as pretty, are a similar style and design so they are a good substitute for now.

Skirt and T-shirt - Zara here & here.  Bag - On&On
Sunglasses - H&M.  Watch - DKNY.
Boarding the MTR train to Disney!
SO. Happy.
Even the train going there got me excited!
Waaaaaahoooooooo!

First ride of the day - Zero queuing too!
It's A Small World - This, for me, is the epitome of Disney.

"There is just one moon and one golden sun,
And a smile means friendship to everyone,
Though the mountains divide,
And the oceans are wide,
It's a small small world!"
He forgot his sunnies, bless him.
A healthy nutritious lunch...HELL NO! This is Disney...let's eat ice cream!!
Got me some ears! - 'Must Have' accessory for Disney S/S 2012.

After seeing all the attractions and riding each ride at least once, it was time to go meet Disney royalty. Minnie told me she loved me, Pluto hugged me and wouldn't let go of me and Mickey even got Steve to join in!

Also spotted the best balloon art ever!

Now, this is where the geek in me comes in. Right after we'd had our photos with the characters we were on a small path in the gardens and Minnie and Mickey were going for their break. They spotted us watching them go and turned to wave goodbye. Mickey started gesturing about how tall we were and Minnie began telling (by this I mean big hand gestures and movements) Mickey about me, and saying she loved me, complete with lots of air kisses!!

Yes. I'm a big adult-sized kid/Disney loser. I know.

But Minnie told Mickey she loves me so I don't care!

Minnie & Mickey just, ya know, chatting....about MEEE!!
After nearly crying with happiness I composed myself and we went to watch the parade. Of course this was also amazing!

Spot anything strange about this photo? No?! How about that man with his belly out!
Mickey Waffle, second only to the Mickey Marshmallow Krispy Treats but they didn't have them! :(
And so...I lived happily ever after.

So. Much. FUN!!

Have you been to Disney? Is there anyone who has been that doesn't love it and turn into a big kid??

xxx

  2. Such cute photo's, gosh you really have a big Disney background! My first and only trip was Disneyland Paris last July, loved it! Although my bf had been with his school 10 years previous and said it hadn't changed much, so he wasn't as excited as I was!

    1. I went to Disneyland Paris a few years ago, I have to be honest and say it's my least favourite of the Disneys Ive visited. It's still fun but somehow I think it lacks the real Disney magic. Not sure why?! Don't get me wrong though, I'd still happily go there tomorrow and every day there after though if it was offered, haha!

  4. I am so jel of your Disneyland adventures! Loving the head to toe Zara ensemble too- I went to Bacelona last week and went a bit mad in Zara, it's a Spanish brand so it was much cheaper than the UK. I can only imagine the massacre that would ensue if you went...!!

    1. I used to have almost all the Disney movies on VHS (remember them?!!) but now I only have a few on DVD. When I see them I get them but for some reason I rarely see them out here., guess it's because they're in English and maybe there's no Korean subs for most of them :(
