Superficial About Perfume // Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh

22 September 2012

I'd be lying if I told you that I didn't commit myself to buying this perfume, Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs, the second I saw the bottle. Just look how pretty it is! It's the perfect addition to my dressing table.

I have no idea how, but I hadn't seen this perfume before, I'd only seen the regular Daisy. As soon as I laid my eyes on the antique pink perfume with the white, yellow and pink flowers I made up my mind that unless it smelt reeeeally truly awful, I was getting it!

It was a pleasant surprise and definite added bonus then that the scent is actually really lovely too!

It's a light, very inoffensive subtle fruit and floral scent (perfect for summer really....but I missed that). I could tell you all about the notes of the perfume but for me it's really just about the looks. If you have more integrity than me when it comes to choosing perfumes you can read about the fragrance on the Marc Jacobs Daisy website, which also happens to be exceptionally pretty! If you're like me (judge a perfume by it's bottle) then do what I did and just skip straight on ahead to buying it - Here!

It did get me thinking though...I can't be the only one who's a bit superficial about their perfume purchases...  Come on, who else buys their perfumes based on the bottles? I know I'm not the only one!

  1. I was in love with the Vera Wang Princess bottle- the purple heart shaped one with the little crown as a lid, but really hated the smell! So I think both elements have to be there- but a good design is gonna get you smelling one that you wouldn't have thought of before. This bottle is gorgeous!

    1. Yes, you're right. If it smells terrible I wouldn't buy it. This bottle was so pretty that if the scent had only been 'alright' I'd have probably still bought it! :) x

  3. Pretty, pretty, pretty. You know I love perfume but if the perfume doesn't live up to its bottle then I feel robbed. Micheal Kors, Very Hollywood, guilty as charged.

    1. Yes, thats the other side of it I didn't think of before. You're so right, super pretty bottle means it should really be an equally lovely smell. I haven't come across Very Hollywood but I'll know not to be drawn in by the looks when I do! x

    1. I do feel like the bottle is a big part of the package, its so nice to display perfumes on your dressing table or in your bathroom I think, thats half of the value in them to me. Glad to hear lots of nice, normal people like yourself do the same :) x

  8. Marc Jacobs Daisy is one of my faves. :) I don't like this smell as much but it's still pretty nice. The bottle is lovely though. :)

    1. Yes, the original Daisy is so nice. It was the pink colour of the actual perfume that won me over on this one! Haha! x

    1. There's quite a few bits on there, mainly what you can see are some of my other perfumes, a candle, assorted lip glosses, Lancome face cream and clinique moisturiser :)

I'm thinking of doing a post about my dressing table area one day. Got to do my fave lipsticks first though! The list is growing :) hehe! Never enough time in the day x

  11. I have this perfume! I bought it last summer and absolutely fell in love with it, it has kind of a sour smell to it (sounds gross...I think of like lemonade or sour patch kids? am I crazy? haha) and it is a gorgeous scent for daytime. Also, of course the bottle sucked me in at first :p but the scent is what made me say yes!

  12. I love the bottle of this perfume but for some reason I've don't even know what it smells like. I can imagine it smells pretty good, just from the bottle though.
