Coffee Table Collection // Lauren Conrad Style & Beauty

22 January 2013

I have to admit I was somewhat obsessed with The Hills. I mean, c'mon...the pretty ladies, dressed up partying and lunching their days away in L.A, what a life! Not to mention the boys, the drama... it was one of the original and (still is, in my opinion) best "reality" TV shows.

In the back of my head I always questioned just how real it all was and when I saw Lauren's nails suddenly change colour, after simply walking through a door, I was faced with a sad reality - confirmation of what I suspected, that it probably wasn't very real at all.

But still, I watched, and was fascinated by the stories and in particular Lauren. Even though much of it was fake, watching her grow up from her Laguna days wasn't. Over the years we got to see her style develop and witnessed her transform from a relaxed, beach going girl next door to a woman with an enviable wardrobe and a chic, elegant personal style.

I like to collect coffee table books and use them for decoration around my apartment, so in a bit of a fan-girl moment not too long ago, I decided to buy her two books, 'Style' and 'Beauty'. I hadn't purchased them earlier since I figured there wouldn't be great deal for me to take from them. I was actually pleasantly surprised that there are some great tips and useful ideas. There's plenty of step by step photo guides for hair and beauty and while much of it probably isn't stuff you didn't know, it is nice just to flip through. You can see that she has a genuine interest in the both fashion and beauty and has made a huge effort for her books to be useful, not merely a means to cash in on her star status. They do make pretty additions to my book stacks, too.

So, who else is a Lauren Conrad fan still? Have you bought any of her books?

  1. They do look pretty stacked and I love your pure white candlesticks. I don't have any of her books but was a fan of the Hills and picked up Whitney's book last month from the £1 shop!

  10. Like you, I was in denial for a long time regarding the "realness" of the show. Either way I was hooked : ) I have never seen her books before but I did just get two tops from her fashion collection at Khols. I love them! It's too cold here now to wear them, but I can't wait for spring! Here style is really nice!
