...and..
..I'm so happy with how it turned out!
It really wasn't as hard as I'd been thinking it would be. Yes, I'll admit it wasn't a total breeze, I re-did a couple of the first few nails but once I'd done a few I really got the hang of it! They don't look perfect but they definitely don't look like the globby mess I'd envisaged them ending up as!
I decided to make a very basic video tutorial, not because one successful attempt makes me a pro but just to help anyone else who wants to give it a try. It's my first video ever and also my very first upload to YouTube. Eeek! So...I'm really hoping you'll all watch it and that you all find it useful!
Let me know what you think! I haven't included audio because I wasn't sure if everyone would be ready for the British accent and I'm a little nervous about talking in videos, I might work up to it one day though!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

I tried this out last year but I didn't like it, you may have convinced me to give it another go :)

I know what you mean, think it really depends which colours you use :) I'd seen a few people do it with dark colours a while ago but it didn't really look great like that to me. I saw someone who'd done it with pale pink and white though recently and it changed my mind, that's why i tried it. I really like this colour combination and I'll probably do it again sometime now.

AMAZING !! loved the video !

DeleteI tried water marbled nails and it looks absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour combo you used xxx
Thanks hun, I like it because now I can wear all my pastel nail colours at once! haha :) x
DeleteI didn´t try it but I would like to ! Your pastel colours are stunning ! Like for video :)
ReplyDeletehttp://lamodetoujoursavecnous.blogspot.com/
You should give it a go, I had quite a bit of fun trying to work out how to do it and I'm quite happy with how it worked out :) x
Deleteoooh this is sooooo pretty! I definitely enjoyed watching your video. I hope you don't mind if I put this on pinterest. I would love to try this when I have time.
ReplyDeleteOf course you can put it on Pinterest! I actually have a Pinterest and I pinned some of the pics already so you could pin them from my beauty board if you want or pin them yourself, I don't mind :)
Deletex
Ah its so pretty! xx
ReplyDeleteYeah, isn't it! I love them :) x
DeleteOoooohhhh!! This looks amazing! I tried this once and it was a DISASTER. I used yellow and silver because for some reason none of my other colours would spread despite using mineral water and the likes, pft!
ReplyDeletehttp://fridayisforever.blogspot.com
Mine didn't seem to spread that well at first but it seemed to start after I added a few more drops of polish and then everything worked out fine :) I had heard about the water affecting it too but I don't know how much that matters....?
Deletex
Wow this is awesome! Thanks for sharing! I'd love to do this with pastels like you did (for easter) but I only have two colours!
ReplyDeleteThanks hun :) More than two looks good but It is posible to do it with only two colours x
Deletegonna try this now!! do you do all nails at once, using the same blobs of polish or do you repeat putting polish in warer for each nail? if u get what I mean ha ha xx
ReplyDeletegreat vid too really clear - i like it without audio xx
You need to repeat it for each nail. I actually managed to do two nails from the same blobs a couple of times but sometimes when you out one finger in it messes up the rest of it, so you'll just have to see how it goes :)
Deletegood luck! x
Amazing! I've never seen this done before. Your nails are gorgeous! I must share your video.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to share :) Glad I could show you something new! :)
DeleteThe video was brilliant and I LOVE the pastel version of marbled nails, looks amazing! xx

Deleteomg these look amazing! I've tried it before but it didn't work for me :( Love the pastels! x
ReplyDeleteOh no :( I found it difficult at first but as I went on it got a lot easier, maybe you should give it a go again?! :) x
DeleteI never really liked the marble effect but this looks awesome! I love it so much! great job! xxx
ReplyDeletewww.claudia-beautyfashion.blogspot.com
Thank you hun :) x
DeleteI tried this last year but really couldn't get the hang of it. I'll have to try it again. Your nails look amazing, so pretty xxx
ReplyDeleteyeah, give it another go. its a bit tricky at first but I think once you try a couple of times it gets much easier. Definitely helps if you do it really quickly too. Good luck :) x
DeleteI've never seen this before. It looks absolutely amazing, really pretty! Can imagine I won't get the same effect but that wont stop me trying x x
ReplyDeleteOooh let me know how it turns out! I think you should be able to manage it :)

Did you use a particular brand of nail polish, or should any brand work for this?
ReplyDeleteI think you can use any. The Mint and yellow I used were from The Face Shop, the lilac is Barry M's 'Berry I/C' and the hot pink which is Color Club. Some spread out better than others. I found that the cheaper the polish the more it spread out, which is good for this. Then again, the different polishes can all create different effects. So I'd just give it a shot with whatever you have and see what works for you :)
