Hola chicas! How was your weekend? (And urrrmm...half your week??)
I had another lovely weekend; the sun was shining, we took a short trip to a small island off the west coast of Korea, we ate waaaay too much food, we got pretty tipsy, we lazed on the couch and we caught up via Skype with friends and family. All in all another great weekend.

It's Wednesday now though, I can't believe it! That means it was four days since I last blogged. Four days that somehow feel like four weeks! The worst part is you'd think I'd have something super whizzer awesome to show you by now buuuuut...well...yeah, I don't!
So what've I been doing all this time??
Well, I've tried to make a start on planning our wedding! Eeeek! First task - pick a venue and a date.
We already decided we'll get married in Thailand since we love it there, its quite easy to reach from here, the weathers perfect at the time of year we want to get married and we know some great places there too. In fact we almost immediately settled on Koh Samui, a small island off the east coast, as the destination.
"You've just got to pick a hotel now, should be easy enough, I'll just see where I like the look of and take it from there" I naively thought to myself.

A few zillion emails later, with about six different spreadsheets detailing costs versus time versus locations and having scoured every corner of Tripadvisor I am none the wiser. How do people choose these things? Where I go from here I honestly do not know!!
I guess that's how I reached Wednesday without even realising it! If you don't hear from me until next week you know what I'm doing!

PS: Have you planned or been to a destination wedding before? Where was it? If you have any links to blogs about destination weddings/wedding planning I'd love to see!
That scarf looks lovely and the beach looks pretty good too. As overwhelming as it is, bet you're jumping up and down inside, you're planning your wedding. Yay, so exciting!! Looking forward to more updates :))
ReplyDeleteYeah, I am excited, stressed but really excited!! :)

Haha, that would be pretty cool, I take it you mean the one they arrive at in the speed boat?! I don't know where it is though... :(

Haha, the last picture made me laugh. You're adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I have no clue about planning a wedding and don't know blog about it either. But I collected a few links a friend sent me:

It looks gorgeous there! What island did you visit? Good luck with all the wedding plans btw! I'm sure it will all work out perfectly :) I've only been to Koh Thao but I've heard Koh Samui is amazing.
ReplyDeleteYeah it was quite nice, one of the better areas of the north west I think. It's called Yeongheung island, it's near to Incheon. It's fairly nearby us and so easy to visit because we can drive onto it (it's connected by a bridge to the mainland).
DeleteYeah, Koh Samui is lovely, I'm so excited, I just wish it was next month and not net year!!
x
I feel your confusion! (just in a smaller setting!!) Im off on holiday in a few months and picking places to stay is SO HARD!!! Trip advisor ends up scaring me out of it!! Travel Agents are normally pretty good at giving you ideas on places within a budget so maybe that will help? You need one of these too! http://shop.cottonon.com/shop/product/journal-momentos/
ReplyDeleteHave fun with it!! xoxo
Im glad I'm not the only one who gets scared by Tripadvisor!! I always try to remember of course in 500+ reviews there will be something bad but as soon as I read the bad thing I'm like, nah, no way, nu uh, not going there! hahaha!

Yay on planning your wedding, I loved planning mine and wish I could renew my vows every year just so I could plan it :) We married in our home town so it wasn't too much of a hastle but my only advice is not to listen to anyone other than your partner, it's your day and you're the only 2 that opinions that matter. We had our honeymoon in Thailand and loved it. Good luck x
ReplyDeleteThats good advice, ill try to remember that. It's certainly seems like it'd be easy to start worrying too much about everyone else and end up not having the wedding we want.
DeleteWhere in Thailand did you honeymoon?
x
We started off at Bangkok for a couple of days and then went to Hua Hin for the rest of the Honeymoon. x
DeleteLoving ur nails and ur accessories..Looks like u had great fun!

yeah I always have fun at the beach, I'm really such a big kid! :) x
Deletegood luck !!! this is pretty exciting :)
ReplyDeleteThis is near your place right? so nice!!
Yeah it's really easy to get to from our new place, pretty short drive if we hadn't got lost a little on the way and then stopped for lunch, haha! When are you going to come visit? Hehe!

I love all of your bracelts paired with that watch. Wedding planning is stressful but it can be lots of fun too. Good luck with all of your planning!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think you're right, I'm currently a weird mix of crazily excited and seriously stressed out, haha! I'm sure as soon as I choose a place I'll feel a bit better though. x
DeletePretty stack of bracelets!
ReplyDeleteAs for the wedding, try not to stress out too much :) It sounds like you're in the beginning of planning mode, where it's all crazy and hectic. It'll all work out! Take it one step at a time.

I'll try my best, I have plenty of time so I really shouldn't stress about it...yet! :) x
DeleteOhoho, that's why I decided to get married in Las Vegas ^.^ I didn't elope, either! I had a lovely ceremony package in one of the gardens at Caesars Palace <3 60 lovely friends and family members all managed to show, too! If you can get a package it is so much less stressful (but you have to be more open to not picking out every little detail, so it depends a lot on your personality and preferences).
ReplyDeleteIve thought about a Vegas wedding myself, not in a wedding chapel or anything like that but as you said you did, in the gardens of one of the hotels. I've seen pics and those weddings look beautiful. I figured they must be really expensive though. What kind of price do wedding packages there start from?

Aweee... great photos Amelia! Looks like a super time! I love beaches and anything to do with beaches! You take lovely photos! Much better ones then I do.. I'm still currently in the learning process. My camera just has way too many features, settings, lenses... it's complicated LOL!
ReplyDeletehugs, xo!

DeleteI haven't planned a wedding yet. but I went to langkawi (small island, actually belongs to malaysia) with my family and there's this resort called the mutiara burau bay resort which is incredible. They have fantastic food and they actually built their swimming pool smaller because otherwise they would have destroyed the habitat of some butterfly lizards that only exist there end somewhere in south america :-) They have tucans, mina birds and a chimpansee that loes to drink milo and gets you coconuts from the trees. Just check it out... I liked it there :-)
ReplyDeleteI'll check it out. I went to some islands in Malaysia before, they were gorgeous and I've heard really good things about Langkawi from friends. Thanks for the recommendation! :) x
DeleteThanks hun :)
