After finally making it to the end of our eight weeks apart I packed up my favourite outfits, far too many pairs of shoes and almost a tonne of accessories and boarded the plane to Dubai. My fiancé had been working in one of the lesser known neighbouring emirates, Ras Al Khaimah, which is about 45 minutes from Dubai. The Hilton Resort and Spa there would make the perfect relaxing start to our reunion/vacation.
I arrived after a fairly painless 10 hour flight. It was early so the room wasn't quite ready but the hotel kindly kept our bags and offered us breakfast by the pool. We'd planned ahead and packed our swimwear to maximize the tanning time, so after breakfast we headed to the pool. We napped and basked in the sun for most of the day.

We're on vacation - Yeaaaaah! |
Late in the afternoon we checked into our room, a fabulous ocean view on the top floor. We sand into the comfy seats on the balcony to enjoy the sunset and a bottle chilled rosé before getting ready for dinner. Dinner was al fresco, (the best kind) under the twinkling stars, in the resort's italian restaurant. The food was absolutely divine and the company second to none. All in all a wonderful start to the trip!

Yes, Ras Al Khaimah was brilliant, very relaxing. We went to dubai for the second half of our break (posts about that coming shortly) though and loved it there! It was so much fun, an amazing city. We've actually been looking at moving away from Korea soon and we think we might try go to Dubai :)
