I'm back from my trip to the UAE. And yes, the post-holiday blues have already set in! Of course, being re-united with Stevie meant I was always going to have an awesome time, but the whole trip exceeded my expectations. Each and every minute was brilliant. If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen a bit of what I got up to. I'm going to do a series of posts about the trip, like a mini-diary showing you what I did, wore and saw.
But, whilst I sift through the zillion photos I took, I thought I'd show you what was in the mystery box that featured in my last post. I was thrilled to finally open it and find out that it was a Phillip Lim White Pashli Satchel - a bag I'd been coveting for some time! You may remember my Christmas Wish List included the black with gold hardware and I wrote a post about white bags with this included, too.

The interior is lined with a dark grey material and has one large zip pocket. |
With the adjustable cross body strap attached. |
So how is it? I absolutely love it!! It's even better in real life than in the photos I'd been studying it in.
It's definitely a large bag, which I love, but I could see it swamping smaller people. I'd perhaps consider the medium if you are small and after a Pashli.
Overall, I love the structure and design of the bag, and I've settled on zips down for me! There's a couple of very minor issues I have with it though. The shoulder strap is insanely long and causes the bag to hang off me in a rather listless looking manner. And, whilst it's extremely easy open the clasp, I've not got to grips with exactly how you're supposed to close it....hmmm...
As for weight, it's slightly heavier than I expected (not backbreaking though) which I account to the leather being so thick. This means it has a very tough, durable feeling to it though, which is great for an everyday bag.
The colour is listed on websites as white but I'd say ivory would better describe it. Whilst it's definitely not cream, it does have a milky tone to it.
What I really love is the pebbled leather, it gives it an edgy, wrinkled texture.
Both the colour and texture will help keep it from looking worn as quickly as a pure white smooth bag would do. Still going to have to be careful mind you, an outing with hot pink jeans whilst I was away proved that!!

Oooh, which colour? I love most of them to be honest. There were several that I was lusting over in fall. And this summer they have a beautiful coral one and one with a floral print too! If only money grew on trees! ;)

This satchel has been my dream bag for such a long time! If I was told I could use only one bag for the rest of my life (just imagine this horror), I would choose the Pashli satchel (in blue, most likely). Yours in white is simply beautiful! Your fiancé knows you well :D
