I've been making a real effort to avoid the likes of Zara and H&M lately. I decided I should try to save money for investment pieces rather than 'fast fashion' items. I think I mentioned this a while ago. But....we all know how good Zara is...I should have known it was dangerous to go even in eyesight of the store. I spotted these shorts from outside as I passed by the doorway, the bright pink and orange floral lured me in. And well, as they say, the rest is history.

I'm not too disappointed with myself though, I really love these. They're the perfect cut for me and the print is right up my (rather girly) street. The tailored style allows them to be worn smart or casual depending what you choose to pair them with. A simple blouse with the sleeves rolled back always makes for an easy laid-back combination. Not such a bad buy really!

Do you manage to save for investment pieces or are you like me and you struggle to stay away from the high-street stores?

I love this! Speaking from someone that spent her weekend in NYC looking at all the Zara's, H&M's, Kate Spade, etc, - it is really hard to not buy something! I have too tried to buy investment pieces, but it's so hard when seasonal items are so eye-catching. I absolutely love the shorts and the jewelry pieces. Love the store by the way!

I adore those shorts, they are perfect on you!! The print and colour are gorgeous! I have definitely been splurging more on investment pieces but three to four times a year I'll do biggish size shops in Zara, H&M, Topshop etc for my seasonal basics. I try not to go shopping in between which removes temptation!

Beautiful look! The shorts work perfect with your rolled up sleeves! Haha, I know exactly what you mean about avoiding high-street stores! I try very hard to save up for investment pieces, but sometimes H&M and Zara are just too convenient & easy!

These shorts are perfect! I want them too but I am waiting because I got some many pairs of shorts from Zara last year and it's not short weather here yet (although I did brave them on sunday for the first time this year)

I'm also trying to be good about saving for investment pieces! I'm saving for a miu miu bag right now and I'm half way there!!

I definitely struggle to keep away from the high street stuff!! .. Ive resisted purchasing these shorts, but I think Im gonna have to give in ;) .. I love the outfit btw :) xx

I'm a sucker for fast fashion, but I do have some nice pieces that are professional that I wear for work days. One can easily invest in those every couple months, and the style never changes. However, we are young, and fast fashion will let us experience the seasons of our youth!

I love these shorts! I am trying to stay away from the high street and buy more high quality items but sometimes I just can't resist a Zara or H&M spree, I somehow feel less guilty about buying a few lower priced items than one investment piece - really it should be the other way around! x

Ahhhhh loving that these shorts have structure to them - so much more classy! Great outfit lovely lady. I am also a sucker for fast fashion, I keep trying to tell myself to go cheap on the trends and invest in the staples!
