The Jetty Lounge & Eau Zone // One & Only Royal Mirage, Dubai

12 March 2013

I'd heard good things about The Jetty Lounge from several Dubai based bloggers. So of course, I wanted to pay it a visit and see what it was like myself. Since we'd arrived in Dubai a bit later than expected we were in a rush to get there before sunset. We did a quick change of clothes (usually unheard of for me) after settling into our new hotel room and hopped in a taxi. We were there in around five minutes and were greeted at the door and escorted to seats on the decking under the softly swaying palms.  The view, the chilled-out house music, the soft glow of colored lighting all serve to make this an incedible spot for a cocktail!

Evening temperatures were a bit chilly when we visited so I wore a chunky black sweater over my maxi.

The bar became even prettier when the sunset.

We'd made reservations for dinner in Eauzone, a restaurant also located at The One & Only Royal Mirage Hotel. So we enjoyed a couple of cocktails as dusk fell, lapped up as much of the cool ambience as we could, then headed on to dinner. I'll admit, it was hard to tear ourselves away from the bar, the whole experience was just so relaxing but I'm glad we did.

It wasn't without a bit of work though; finding the restaurant in the hotel's huge, sprawling (all perfectly manicured) grounds turned out to be quite an entertaining challenge. We got pretty lost and the haphazard signage wasn't much use, but the gardens are so beautiful that it wasn't such a bad thing.

Heading on to dinner. Little did I know how long that'd take.
Starting to get lost but enjoying the walk.
Lost. But what a pretty place to get lost in :)
Finally we made it and we were still almost the first in the restaurant.

I'm a bad blogger. I didn't remember to photo our dessert, I just devoured it. Guess we know what my priorities are. You can take that as proof of how good it was!
That's my smug,  happy and a little *ahem* tipsy face.
And.....getting lost again on the way out.
Blissfully unaware that we can't get out that way either.
We recognise that bar. Going the right way, at last.

If you're visiting Dubai, I'd definitely recommend making time to visit both The Jetty Lounge and Eauzone. The service was excellent and our meal was delicious; however, the real reason to visit Eauzone is the setting! The restaurant is under tented gazebos and surrounded by water. It's hard to capture just how beautiful it is in a photo, but it's without doubt one of the most romantic restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining in. The Jetty Lounge now takes the top spot as my favourite bar of all time, so that right there should be enough to convince you.

We headed happily back to our hotel to find chocolates on our pillows, my idea of the perfect end to a perfect night!

    1. Oh, I didn't know you needed to be 21 there. Not that it affects me, a tad past that age, sadly :'(
Did you live in Dubai? Or elsewhere in the middle east? We loved it so much, we're looking at options for moving there after we're done in korea. :) x
