Humphrey The Match Strike // Jonathan Adler

28 January 2014

This little guy already has a name, he's Humprhey. Humphrey was a little 'just because' gift from the Mr, and the fact he's already been named just a few days after arriving in our home should tell you a) how much I love him and b) what a fruit loop I am.

But hey, if you're going to have matches on your coffee table (which any scented candle addict like myself  will) what better/cuter way to display them is there? None, really. This adorable but also very chic elephant match strike is by Jonathan Alder and can be purchased from Shopbop (here)

I noticed Jonathan Adler also makes a sweet little squirrel version. Maybe Humphrey would like a friend... Hmmm.

There's a good handful of other little items by Jonathan Adler that I'd love to add to my home sometime, too. I love that they're all quirky and fun, they make me feel cheerful just looking at them. If you're looking for a stylish but playful gift they'd be a great option too.

  3. Do you actually strike the matches on the little elephant?! I was wondering if that would mark him/her up. I'm on the hunt for a match holder because my match boxes are too big.

    1. Yes, they really are. I have my eye on several of the larger furniture items but can't get hold of them out here. Will have to hope I end up in the US or somewhere that does have them one day! :) x
