Coveted and Coveting

18 March 2014

I don't know about you but I always have a little mental shopping list. Of course, several of the items fall into more of the 'wishlist category'. That's basically lots of gorgeous handbags and a few pairs of Louboutin shoes. But I also make mental notes of particular (more realistic) items that I've seen on other bloggers or in magazines and want to buy, or find similar versions of.

The Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon shoes have been something I have coveted for a few years. The big shiny hearts give the shoes a cartoon-like quality that I absolutely love. I would have grabbed myself a pair right away but alas, I was living in Korea at the time, where my size (only UK7!) was never stocked, and importing my size would mean around a 60% markup. Errm, that's okay thanks! Skip forward to last weekend when I'm casually wandering around one of the malls here doing some window shopping. I passed by the Melissa store and spotted the iconic hearts at the back of the shop, and then even better, I spotted the sale sign in their section. They were 70% off, and against the odds they had my size! I snapped them up in the colour 'Lychee' and couldn't be happier. Such playful, fun shoes and such a bargain! Guess it's true that good things come to those who wait.

Finding these got me to thinking about other things I want to hunt down, high up my list is a short orange jacket. I saw the ASOS fluro boucle jacket last year on a number of bloggers and was reminded of it by Laura recently. It was half off then, but sold out fast. I bet some of you ladies were lucky/fast enough to snap one up, weren't you?! Anyway, try as I might, I now can't shake the idea that I need peachy orange coloured jacket. I have looked in all the stores here but to no avail. So naturally I started scouring the Internet, which lead me to a site called Peter Hahn that I hadn't heard of before, but it has this orange jacket. It's pretty much what I'm after, just sadly doesn't have the £35 ASOS price tag! The search may have to go on. If anyone knows where I can find a nice light orange or peach coloured short jacket let me know!

So ladies, what's on your current shopping lists? Come on, I know there must be plenty of things!

    1. I was actually thinking the same. I think I'll probably have no problem wearing them with a black dress on a night out or at the very least they can just look pretty on my shelf! They were just too great a deal to pass up! :)

    1. Yes, I used to have quite a few pieces of VW jewellery. Although I know it's only costume jewellry most of mine tarnished quite badly which put me off a bit since it's by no means cheap. Maybe (hopefully) they've improved the quality a bit recently though?!

  5. I love those shoes! Lucky you! I had been coveting the hot pink Rebecca Minkoff 'Hudson Mini Moto' Crossbody Bag, but I waited too long to buy it. Ah, well. I'll just have to keep looking for the perfect bag for spring.

  6. I love Vivien Westwood's shoes :) I imagine them to be really comfy too, being made out of that springy, rubbery.. stuff. Like jelly sandals! I've got a long list of bags on my wishlist as well as a pair of elusive dream boots that I can't find anywhere :( xxx

    1. Yes, these are so comfy, you're right. The rubber means they don't dig in at all they just stretch around your feet. The base is quite squishy too, not sure what they pad it with but I wish they'd do it to all heels!

Hope you find your boots! x

  9. I love when you find something on sale and in your size it's like it's meant to be!!! I had a pit of Louboutin's on my dream wish list and was so lucky to win a pair last year! Right now everything on my wish list is pretty affordable like a tee from the new cake for breakfast line!

Also make sure to bookmark the ASOS page and keep stalking for returns, I've found so many things that way!

  10. Ahhh Amelia, I too indeed have a constant running 'must buy, need it now' list in my head haha. At the moment it is some Lorna Jane workout tights, a thick over-sized cream knit for winter, constantly on the list is the perfect black leather jacket and on that 'wish list its never happening' is a Chanel Purse! Loving the heels and as a fellow shopaholic I take joy in knowing you got yourself a bargain! xoxo

  12. So "jelly"! I waqnted the cream pair with black haert for my wedding but being a UK size 8 they were even harder to come by.

I'm coveting a bigger bank balance to help my shopping addiction through winter. This year I seem to be more focused on Make up though as opposed to fashion items. Dont know which is worse on the pocket though?!

    Thanks for the great blog!

  15. I always thought these shoes were super expensive, but they're actually not too bad - but grabbing them in sale is even better, wow! They are so playful, I love them - can't wait to see how you're going to style them.

A pair that has been on my wishlist is a pair of Valentino Rockstuds, but that's waaaay out of my league at the moment! Other thing is a Michael Kors Selma in navy... swoon!
