Essie Fall 2013 // The Mini Collection

24 September 2013

Not only am I a nail polish addict, but I'm also highly indecisive so mini collections are literally a godsend for me. They give me the chance to 'sample' more of the colours before deciding if I want to buy any in full size. This year's Essie Fall 2013 mini-cube contained all the colors I wanted to try out from the full collection, that never usually happens to me! The other two, not included are a navy blue and a red, but to me they were the least interesting shades.

Top of my list to try was For The Twill Of It, a grey with pink to green duochrome effect. This one reminds me of spilt oil, it's got such a broad color shift and looks even prettier in person. I had actually been interested in getting Peace & Love & OPI, but after a bit of research I found out the two are exactly the same.

Second on the list of colors I wanted to try out was The Lace Is On. It's a jewel toned purple with fuchsia shimmer. I'm saving this one for a mani on it's own with some kind of glitter accent, I'll show you how it turns out in a seperate post later this week.

The other two that come in the set are Vested Interest, a teal green and Cashmere Bathrobe, a grey with a slight grey shimmer. Both of these are cream formulas and apply smoothly and easily. Although I do like the colors, there's nothing particularly wow for me about these two, but they do tie in well with the flashes of colour you see in For The Twill Of It. Using the three together makes a more interesting manicure, and is the obvious choice for indecisive people like me :)

You can purchase the Essie Fall 2013 Collection cube online from Nordstrom or Zappos.

Which is your favourite color? Did you buy any new fall polishes yet?

  5. These are amazing colours! I'm not quite sure that all of them are particularly me though. I think my favourite would probably have to be The Lace is On, so if I was going to buy any I would probably buy just that one on its own x

    1. Yes, I'm more of a pinks and brights kinda girl myself. Even though grey and green aren't usually my kinda colors I found that with For The Twill of It there was just enough sparkle to it to be okay :) I'm wearing The Lace Is On now and love it! I'll post about that one this weekend! x

  6. For The Twill Of It is absolutely gorgeous, I didn't think I liked shiny multicoloured polishes like this but I adore this now I've seen it on! I always think oil is so pretty (weirdly!), so this is perfect xx

    1. I've had a bit of an aversion to shimmery finish polishes in the past too, they always made me think of colors my grandma used to wear. But lately, with the duochromes, like this one and Chanel Azure, I've developed quite a liking for them :) I think oil is so pretty too! x

  9. I was looking at For the Twill of It last night in Duty Free and I was very tempted but I can't really justify buying any more nail polishes right now! I already have far too many :)
